The length of a makeover depends on the size and complexity of the space, as well as the amount of clutter and how much time you have to invest in making progress. I provide clients with guidelines and estimated ranges for organizing major categories of contents (clothing, books, paperwork, kitchen, photos, etc.). For a whole-home organizing makeover, the estimated timeline is 3 to 8 months, depending on your unique circumstances.
The Groomed Home charges by the program, event, or package of organizing services. For people who aren't ready to commit to longer term support but still want initial or occasional help, there is a half-day and a full-day option and we will discuss and determine the work to be done during our initial (free) call.
That will depend on what you already own and your preferences. For example, you might opt to organize the contents of some drawers just using nice boxes and lids you have laying around. Together we will determine if you truly need (or simply want) to buy some organizing supplies. The goal is to help make the most out of the storage you already own or have built into the house so in many cases you won't need to buy anything.
Even though I encourage whole-home organizing and GROOMing based on content categories rather than rooms, yes, you can focus on one space to start with. However, for any single space you plan to organize, I advise assessing all belongings for any categories of contents stored in that space. For example, if you tackle your closet, you should review and plan to organize ALL of your clothes, even if some of them will go back into dressers or other closets. Otherwise, you might find yourself organizing one space by transferring its clutter to other rooms.
